The ‘Who cares for carers? Working together to improve support in palliative care’ conference is taking place on 7 February 2017 in The Guildhall, Derry/Londonderry.
This conference is for health and social care professionals, community and voluntary organisations and individual carers who care for people who have life limiting illnesses. This one day event is focused on the needs of those who are looking after someone at the end of life.
Carers will be encouraged to participate, interact and engage in discussions around financial, emotional and practical advice, working with health care professionals. The conference is being organised by the National Council for Palliative Care (NCPC) with support from Foyle Hospice, Northern Ireland Hospice and AIIHPC. The Irish Hospice Foundation is funding a limited number of bursaries to attend the conference which are available to family carers with an interest in palliative care. In addition Family Carer Organisations and Condition Specific Organisations who wish to support Family Carers to attend this conference can apply
The bursaries will cover the cost of attending the conference along with a contribution towards travel costs (see attached poster for more information).

- Family carers should submit their name, contact details and a brief explanation of their caring experience and why they would like to attend the conference.
- Family carer and condition specific organisations should submit the name of the representative from their organisation and the name and details of the family carer who will also attend
