The StrokeCog Study:

National Survey of Nursing Homes

The Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) would like to invite

Persons in Charge and Directors of Nursing to take part in a National Survey of Nursing Homes in Ireland.

This survey is being conducted to identify the number of residents in Nursing Homes in Ireland who have cognitive impairment or dementia relating to stroke.

What is involved?

Participation involves completion of a brief questionnaire. The questionnaire does not look for information on individual residents or member of staff. Rather, it looks for anonymous aggregated data. For example, total number of residents with stroke and cognitive impairment.

Why is the study important?

The information provided in the survey is critical as it will be used to estimate the costs of cognitive impairment related to stroke in Nursing Homes in Ireland. Without your participation it will not be possible to estimate these costs.  As the population is ageing this information is important in helping healthcare planners and policy-makers plan for the future.

Where can I get further information?
