The School of Nursing and Midwifery are please to present the following two events on Thursday 26 April. Both events are free to attend, however pre-booking is advisable


1pm-4.30pm: Celebrating 21 years of mental health research and scholarship – a journey of collaboration and co-production

A symposium marking 21 years of research in mental health and mental health nursing.  The event will be opened by Ms Patricia Gilheaney, CEO of the Mental Health Commission and closing comments will be given by Ms Anne Brennan, Director of the Nursing and Midwifery Planning and Development Unit. The afternoon is a collaboration between service users, service providers, students, funders and academics and will focus on showcasing how collaborative research can influence policy and practice.

5.15pm-6.15pm: Therapeutic responses to self-harm and suicide

An active clinician and passionate about high quality and safe client care, Cindy is Chief Operations Officer at Pieta House – the centre for suicide & self-harm and suicide bereavement support services in Ireland.

Cindy has over 17 years’ experience in psychotherapy services, having worked in private practice, with the children’s charity Barnardos, and as Clinical Director and now COO at Pieta House
