The next Pathways to Universal Healthcare seminar will take place on 19 September 2017. Pathways is a three year Health Research Board funded research programme which aims to provide an excellent evidence base that informs the strategic direction and implementation of universal healthcare in Ireland.
The seminar will run from 9am – 1 pm in the Science Gallery in Trinity College Dublin.
Over the past six months, the Pathways team provided technical support to the Oireachtas Committee on the Future of Healthcare. The aim of this seminar is to reflect on the work of the Oireachtas Committee as well as presenting some updated work from the Pathways project team – Prof Steve Thomas, Dr Sarah Barry, Dr Bridget Johnston, Rikke Siersbaek and I.
Our two keynote speakers are
- Roisin Shortall, TD, Chair of the Oireachtas Committee of the Future of Healthcare whose presentation is entitled ‘Sláintecare – reflections from the chair’
- Dr Josep Figueras, Director of the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, head of the WHO European Centre on Health Policy will speak about ‘Situating the Sláintecare report in an international context and lessons for implementation’.
