People Strategy – Leaders in People Services – consultation and engagement process

The HSE Human Resources Division is launching a process of consultation and engagement in relation to the People Strategy – Leaders in People Services, our organisation’s HR roadmap for the health service.

Our current People Strategy runs from 2015 – 2018 and is anchoring all key HR developments in our system. We are now scooping out requirements for a refreshed  People Strategy which is planned to run from 2019 – 2021.

Look out for our invitation to you to complete our People Strategy Review Survey, which will issue shortly. We are seeking your ideas to refresh and energise the impact and relevance of our People Strategy through greater involvement at all levels especially at the levels of the Community Healthcare Organisations, Hospital Groups and national services.

The refreshed  People Strategy will provide health service staff with a HR roadmap with increased  relevance and reach across the HSE and the wider system.

Our updated People Strategy will take into account relatively recent developments such as National Public Sector Reform, Sláintecare Report and the reorganisation of arrangements in the HSE.

As part of the process of review we need to better understand how well the current People Strategy has impacted our work and what the evidence is telling us.

To help us to gather this evidence we will be shortly consulting with our staff, service users and some members of the wider public via our website and social media for their input on what has worked well in terms of People Strategy implementation to date and what could be improved upon.

We also want to know what has been most relevant about the People Strategy  to you , our staff,  in your work, how our strategy has helped or hindered our service users and what our public thinks of our HR direction for the health services.

We will be seeking your input on what should be our priorities for the next three years and what aspects of HR practice need to be transformed or improved.

We need to give renewed energy to our People Strategy and ensure that progress in this area is sustained for 2019 – 2021 and beyond.

Help us to get the next phase of the development and implementation of our People Strategy  right so that we can deliver enhanced public value and serve you better.

In addition to the Survey we will also be engaging with key stakeholders to utilise current engagement fora and upcoming events / meetings to consult, gather and compile data. We will also be organising dedicated sessions over the next  three months for this purpose.
