The Institute of Community Health Nursing (ICHN), Southern branch, send their good wishes to lmelda O’Connor, Cardiovascular Public Health Nurse, on her recent retirement.
lmelda joined the ICHN in 1999 and held several posts on the committee over the years. Her most recent position was chairperson and she held this post until her retirement.
Having completed her Public Health Nursing studies in UGC she worked in various health centres in Cork. She also worked for 18 months as the Assistant Manager in the Cork city refugee centre when the Kosovar refugees came to Ireland.
In 2000, she was appointed the cardiovascular PHN for the south lee community care area in Cork and has worked in the position for the past 14 years.
We, in the ICHN, wish lmelda a long, happy and active retirement.
