CALL FOR
ABSTRACTS – GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION

The Irish Heart Foundation Council on Stroke was established in
1997 and is dedicated to furthering excellence in stroke care in Ireland. The 20th Irish
Heart Foundation Stroke study day will take place on Thursday 9th
and Friday 10th March 2017 in the Croke Park Conference Centre,
Dublin.

There will be an expanded conference programme in celebration of our 20th
anniversary.  A number of key note
speakers will present on Thursday afternoon followed by a drinks reception to
which all delegates are invited to attend. The conference programme will
continue on Friday 10th March and, in addition to the usual
programme format, will include parallel sessions and guided poster tours. Full
programme details will follow when speakers are confirmed, together with registration
instructions.

Abstracts
are now invited for POSTER AND ORAL
presentations. Submissions on all aspects of stroke care are welcome.  Abstracts should be submitted online through the IHFStroke2017 web
application https://ihfstroke2017.exordo.com.  A 300 word limit applies. Please do not use
tables or figures.  References and
ethical approval should be detailed in the ‘Additional Info’ section and will
not contribute towards word count. All sections of the online application must
be completed. Abstract guidelines are detailed in attachment below and on the above web application. Abstracts which do not adhere to these guidelines will NOT be considered.  Any technical issues can be directed to support@exordo.com

PLEASE NOTE the earlier closing
date for abstract submission of Friday 9th
December 2016
at midnight.

Both
research reports and practice/service development reports will be accepted.
Both qualitative and quantitative methodologies are welcome.

Prizes will be awarded for best poster and oral presentation. The lead presenter may be
from nursing, allied health professional or medical disciplines. Presenters
must register and be in attendance at the conference to be eligible for awards.
Consultants may submit and present work, but are excluded from eligibility for
prizes.

Presenters will be notified of the outcome
by Friday 27th January 2017 at the latest.
