HSE Broadcast: Care of Adults and Children with Asthma e-learning education programme

The HSE’s National Clinical Programme for Asthma is calling on all Healthcare professionals involved in the care of adults and children with asthma to avail of the updated e-Learning resource, ‘Care of Adults and Children with Asthma’ which is Category 1 Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

To access this eLearning resource and complete the education programme, go to My Learning on HSELanD and search for ‘Care of Adults and Children with Asthma e-Learning Education Programme.’

The education programme covers all aspects of asthma care and will build the confidence and skills necessary to provide best-practice care. There are five modules within the resource, which take approximately three hours to complete. The modules are as follows and this self-directed learning allows learners to go through the modules at their own convenience with structured training and review exercises to reinforce their learning:

  • Module 1: Diagnosis and Assessment of Asthma
  • Module 2: Treatment of Asthma
  • Module 3: Paediatric Asthma
  • Module 4: Guided Self-Management/Asthma Action Plans
