I am delighted to advise that the Health Service Leadership Academy’s newest programme Leading Care III is now open for applications.
Leading Care III
Leading Care III is a nine month Diploma in Management (NFQ Level 9) for those who wish to have a comprehensive, intensely practical and critical overview of best-practice management in a broad range of areas with a particular focus on the healthcare environment. It is open to both clinical and non-clinical colleagues and is aimed at those who are newly appointed to a management role, or in a position of responsibility, or who aspire towards a management or supervisory role in the next two years, or to anyone more senior who wishes to undertake this programme.
The first cohort of Leading Care III will start in October this year, with subsequent cohorts next year.

It is proposed that the relevant service area will fund the successful participants.
Our People Strategy identifies Leadership and Culture as a key priority. The People Strategy envisions creating effective leadership at all levels by working collectively towards a common purpose and creating a caring and compassionate culture and inspiring innovation, creativity and excellence throughout the organisation. A key action within the People Strategy is to shape leadership and culture within the Irish health service, by creating a national Leadership Academy, comprising the best thought and practice based leaders from across the system to lead, influence and develop leadership standards, practice and succession management.
The Leadership Academy is a significant development for our Health Service and I strongly encourage applications to participate in this programme. Also keep an eye out for other forthcoming exciting programmes and developments as we work towards building a better health service for all.
